  • [Summer 2015] Software Architect at Thales

    Responsible for reducing technical debt and obsolescence across the mine-hunting sonar product group. Liaised with product owners and engineering managers to identify issues and develop a product variant strategy that would save 1500 man-hours of NRE per platform.

    Presented a white paper to the Specialist Engineering Technologies working group, heads of business and UK chief software architects on use of description logics in model driven development to rationalise assets for product line engineering

  • [Summer 2014] Research Intern at IBM

    Completed a research project in Natural Language Processing using a content-based recommender to link topic clusters extracted from free text to build a semantic browser for IBM Infosphere BigInsights.

  • [2013-2014] Software Engineer at Thales

    Responsible for development of 2 sonar sub-systems which are currently deployed in active service. Both systems required me to provide technical leadership to reduce risks integrating with other systems under development.

    Introduced a continuous deployment process from onto test-environment which saved all developers time when verifying software builds.
